Jenny Brandt
Mrs. Brandt begins her second year assisting Mrs Waskow in the afternoon Pre K program. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from George Mason University. Mrs. Brandt is married with two children and attends St Katherine Drexel Church. She enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, going to the beach and volunteering with her children's community swim team. She loves working with the children in every area and looks forward to sharing her afternoons with pre kindergarten children!
Lori Brown
Mrs. Brown has worked at our school for sixteen years and has been working along side of Mrs. McNeil in the Pre-K morning program. She is from Falls Church, VA and attended Bridgewater College. Mrs. Brown is married and has two grown children. She attends church at Gainesville United Methodist. She enjoys shopping, visiting her newly married daughter and son-in-law,and going to the beach. Lori also has two Boston Terriers- Baxter and Champ. She loves helping children have special days by making them smile, she runs the morning carpool, and she is a great organizer in the classroom.
Tisha Brown
Mrs. Brown will be assisting Mrs. Goff in the Morning Pre K program. Tisha has been an active volunteer at HBCPK as well as the music assistant. She is a graduate of Texas Bible Institute and has worked in children's ministry since she was a teenager. Tisha is married with 2 children (both attending HBCPK) and attends New Life Christian Church. She enjoys reading, going to the beach and spending time with her family.
Jill Christopher
Mrs. Jill Christopher assists Mrs. Eickmann in the two-year-old classes on Wednesday and Friday. She has her Bachelor's Degree from Radford and her Master's from Virginia Tech. Jill is married with four boys, all graduates of HBCPK! She attends Haymarket Baptist Church and serves in the church nursery and Sunday school department. Jill enjoys time with her family at the beach or hiking or camping. She loves to see wonder and excitement in a child's eyes as they learn. She is a sweet and gentle spirit that will make each two-and-a-half-year-old child feel loved and special.
Amy Duff
Mrs. Duff begins her third year at HBCPK and assists Mrs. McNeil in her afternoon Pre K class. Amy is a graduate of George Mason University. She has eight years of teaching experience from two previous Christian schools. Mrs. Duff has one teenage daughter, attends Grace Methodist Church and she enjoys creating handmade cards for friends and traveling with her family.
Vicky Hackler
Mrs. Hackler begins her third year at our school, one as the music assistant, and now her second year assisting Mrs. Wilkens in the MWF morning 3 year olds and MWF afternoon 4 year olds. Vicky is married and has three children who are all graduates of HBCPK. She also has a labradoodle named Sophie! Mrs. Hackler attends Park Valley Church and enjoys all of her children's sports activities, going to the beach and spending time with friends.
Mable Hudson
Mrs. Hudson has been teaching and assisting at our school for thirteen years. She attends Haymarket Baptist Church and seems to know just about everyone! She is active in all the activities at church and around town! Her special gift is working with our two-year-old classes. Her gentle and loving ways help these little ones adjust to a new place, make new friends and try many new experiences. She has one grown son and her husband's job has allowed her to travel to many parts of the world. She is very patriotic and loves music, especially the classics. Mrs. Hudson is assisting Mrs. Eickman in the Tues/Thurs 2 1/2 year old class.
Joanne Keiser
Mrs. Keiser assists Mrs. Lawler in the Pre-K classroom each morning. She begins her seventh year at HBCPK! Joanne is married with four children. Mrs. Keiser also is our testing coordinator for kindergarten readiness testing. She and her family attend Holy Trinity Church. Joanne enjoys gardening, reading, computers and playing with her dog, Toby. She has taught Vacation Bible School and computer classes. Joanne loves children's inquiring minds, many questions and smiling faces!
Cheryl Mateer
Mrs. Mateer returns for her fourth year and she assists Mrs. Ritter with the Monday/Wednesday/Friday morning four-year-olds and Mrs. Kim with the afternoon four-year-olds. She is married with three sons who were all graduates of HBCPK. Cheryl attends St. Katherine Drexel Church, and she is active at Tyler Elementary, where her children attend. Her hobbies include gardening, anything that involves the outdoors and just being a mom. She enjoys being with preschoolers, loves giving out hugs and kisses, helping children adjust to preschool and encouraging each child have a great day while in her care.
Sarah Schweitzer
Mrs. Schweitzer returns to us after a year long absence due to a military move! We are thrilled to welcome her back to the team of assistants and this year she will be assisting Mrs. Burns all day every Tues/Thurs in the 3's class. Sarah is married to an Army officer and has 3 children. She is a graduate of Old Dominion University and attends All Saints Catholic Church. Mrs. Schweitzer enjoys reading, cooking, music and watching her children's sporting events. She loves the humor of preschoolers and revisiting the world through a child's eyes-seeing dandelions as flowers instead of weeds.
Laura Smeltzer
Mrs. Smeltzer is new to our team this year, but definately not new to teaching or working with children. Laura will be assisting Mrs. Goff in that afternoon Pre K class. She has both her bachelors and masters in Education and Special Ed and Behavior Disorders. She taught for nine years in a variety of public school settings. Laura is married with 2 elementary aged children, she is a Lutheran. She enjoys power walking and salon-pampering! She is looking forward to being part of a positive Christian teaching environment!
Kelly Stone
Mrs. Stone is new to the staff this year, but has been a substitute for the past two years at HBCPK. Kelly has been a P. E. teacher at two Christian schools, and will not only be the teaching assistant to Mrs. Ream on MWF mornings, but will also teach P.E. for Kindergarten. Mrs. Stone is married with 3 children (2 attending HBCPK) and attends Grace Life Community Church where she helps with the youth, VBS and missions. She is a Pampered Chef consultant, and enjoys camping and hiking with her family.
Bobbie Tolson
Mrs. Tolson, returning for her fifth year, assists Mrs. Wilkens with the morning two-day three-year-olds. Bobbie enjoys just about any creative outlet, flower gardening, new organizational ideas and ministering to women in her church and neighborhood. She is a graduate of Southwestern University, with a Bachelors degree in Computer Programming. Bobbie is married with two children, both graduates of our preschool and kindergarten program. She is an active member of Grace Life Community Church where she serves on both the toddler and teen ministries.
Signe Yates
Mrs. Yates will begin her third year at HBCPK, but this is her first year in the classroom. Signe will be assisting Mrs. Ream in the afternoon MWF 3's class, as well as continue to do some floating and subbing. She has spent the previous two years as a floater-helping with lunch bunch, snack, arrivals and dismissals. Signe went to Radford University and attends St. James Episcopal Church. She is married with 2 children (both graduates of HBCPK) and recently added a new puppy, Jet, to their family. Mrs. Yates enjoys everything related to exercise-running, spinning, marathons, and swimming!
