Sample 2 2017

As I think about thankfulness with the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, I wanted to pass on some thankful thoughts to you all!

Thank you for supporting our school events, activities, fundraisers, for helping at Parent Coffees, the Harvest Hoedown, Scholastic Book Fair, collecting Box Tops, buying Chick-fil-A calendars, showing up for Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A, shopping and donating for our Jamaica preschool Christmas party, and to Hurricane Harvey relief! So many of you have gone above and beyond. May you be blessed for all you do to support HBCPK!

Our October 11th Chick-fil-A Spirit Night was a big success, having raised $354.85! We will do this again in March to help with the teacher‛s college tuition and shipping of school supplies. Calendar sales were $1,800 -- our highest profit ever! Thank you! We will be able to bless the school with a sweet event on December 19th , buy clothing items that we did not receive, and buy shoes for each child that does not have any. Monday, November 20th  at 9 a.m., we will have a packing party . We‛ll pack and tag an envelope for each child. Let me know if you‛d like to lend a hand...it‛s sure to be fun!

I‛m looking forward to our other upcoming mission projects. You‛ll see a box at the front entrance for canned goods and nonperishable items. The church makes food baskets for the needy in the Haymarket/Gainesville area. They purchase the main menu staples and we help collect and donate the secondary items to feed families for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a few other days. This project is mainly for the 2‛s and 3‛s, but we would gladly accept donations from all. It‛s a good lesson in the act of giving for the children to help shop for items and then place them in the box. The 4‛s will return their shoeboxes on November 13th for our annual Operation Christmas Child Shoebox parade. Please be sure to follow the directions that were sent home. Other grades may fill a shoebox as well, but this is mainly a 4‛s project. Kindergarten will do their project, Lottie Moon, at Christmastime.

I am thankful for Haymarket Baptist Church and their vision for this preschool 28 years ago...a small little school with originally just 2 classes, and the vision to grow us to 20 classes! I think over the years the number of families that have been blessed to be loved here! I am thankful for our school board, who insures we have everything we need to do our job well. I am also ever grateful for the team of teachers and support staff that God has brought together to make a difference in the lives of children in this community.

May you all enjoy a special time as families celebrating Thanksgiving and reflecting on your blessings. Have you practiced ‘I am thankful for...‛ with your children? They are at a great age to think of things to be thankful for. I hope you have a wonderful month. May you be able to count your many blessings!

Happy Thanksgiving,

Mrs. Laurie Frasz
