Kindergarten Teaching Team

 
 

Kindergarten Teachers at HBCPK must meet requirements set by the Division of Licensing, Va as well as the requirements set by our accrediting body, Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). K Teachers must be CPR/First Aid trained, have been background and fingerprint checked, comply with I-9 requirements and complete the following courses: Child Abuse and Neglect, Daily Health Observations, and Blood borne pathogens, plus attain 16 hours of professional development in Education or like course work, workshops or conferences annually. For our accreditation status, K teachers must obtain an ACSI Educator's Credential by submitting their college transcripts/degree, completing Principles and Practices or Early Childhood Education or Philosophy of Christian Education, attend Bible study, be a professing growing Christian attending their place of worship on a regular basis. Our Kindergarten teachers are degreed teachers.

 
 

TEACHERS




Kelly Stone

Ms. Kelly Stone begins her 14th year at HBCPK and this will be her fifth year as a Kindergarten Teacher for HBCPK.  Ms. Stone’s past teaching at HBCPK includes Kindergarten P.E for 4 years, assisting in the 3's, and leading the MWF 4's and Pre-K since 2011.  Ms. Stone has an Early Childhood Education degree from Vanguard University in California, an Elementary Education degree from Liberty University, and her teaching credential from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Kelly enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, camping, hiking, and walking her dog, Lucy. Two of her daughters are graduate alumni of HBCPK.  Kelly attends Park Valley Church.  She says, “As a teacher, my heart’s prayer for my students is this verse- “ For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, Colossians 1:9-11”. Your children are in for a 'bear-y' good year with the Bear Cubs class, Ms. Stone and puppet friend Bernie. She is excited to make a difference in your child’s learning and life experiences throughout the Kindergarten year!


KeRRY Wolfe

Mrs. Kerry Wolfe returns to HBCPK after several years. She originally was a Pre K teacher for us, then went on to run her own daycare business (using Abeka Curriculum like we do). After that she was a Kindergarten Assistant teacher at a local elementary school, and she begins her 2nd year teaching Kindergarten here. Kerry is married with two grown children, and a dog named Jack. She attends Park Valley Church. Mrs. Wolfe is a graduate of Marymount University with a degree in Psychology, heavy emphasis on Education. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:14- “I can do all things through Christ, who strenthens me”. She spends her spare time gardening, dabbling with interior design, scrapbooking, enjoying the beach AND running her dog treat business! She makes pupcakes and all kinds of nutritious goodies for puppies! Mrs. Wolfe has a calm loving atmosphere in her classroom- she is patient and loves seeing the light click on when students ‘get it’- so rewarding! She has 20 years of teaching experience- and looks forward to loving and teaching the fox den kiddos this year!


Nina Kraemer

Mrs. Nina Kraemer begins her 4th year on Team Kindergarten, 3 years assisting, and now this year leading! She is married and has two daughters who attended HBCPK right through Kindergarten. Nina was an avid volunteer, coordinating book fairs, luncheons, writing the school newsletter, subbing, and was Volunteer of the Year many times at HBCPK. Mrs. Kraemer graduated from George Mason University, graduating a BS in Psychology with a concentration on Early Childhood Education, and was pursuing her Masters in Education. She is completing her teaching credential with Association of Christian Schools International. She taught preschool at University View Childcare Center in Fairfax and directed preschools in Centreville and Ashburn. She has enjoyed supporting all of her daughter’s activities and sports, and now that they are grown- she is enjoying being where she started, right here at HBCPK, helping children experience a love a learning in many fun and creative ways. Nina loves children, their energy and enthusiasm for life! She is excited to take her 12 little owlets on to a great school year- where reading takes off, and their spiritual growth soars!

Heidi Evans

Mrs. Heidi Evans begins her 9th year at HBCPK. She has spent many years as the school’s Pee Wee Fitness and Musical Moves lead teacher, as well as assisting in Pre K and the three-year-old classes. She is in her 3rd year of Kindergarten Assisting! Mrs. Evans is married with 2 daughters (alumni grads- HBCPK) and she attends Gainesville United Methodist Church.  She is the proud mama to her Goldendoodle named Mildred (Millie)! She is a graduate of The Ohio State University(go Buckeyes!) with her major in Child and Family Studies. She has served in past years as a Child Development Center Director. Heidi is bubbly, energetic and loves being with children and helping them learn and grow into faithful Christ-followers and become successful students! You’ll find her helping with carline arrivals/departures, assisting with learning stations, art, the international luncheon and field trips.


Sarah Severino

Mrs. Sarah Severino returns for her 3rd year, but not in the support staff role she had, but now moving over to Kindergarten to assist on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week. She is an elementary teacher by trade and education/degree- a graduate of University of South Florida. Sarah is married with 4 boys- and is active in their school and sport activities. The Severino family includes hubby John and 4 boys, and 2 cats! They attend Holy Trinity Catholic Church and her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:31- if God is for us, who can be against us? Sarah enjoys reading, decorating her house, and mostly watching her boys play sports! She loves the honesty of young children and is excited to meet and work with all the Kindergarten students this year!
