Kindergarten Teachers


Kim Stevens

Mrs. Kim Stevens begins her seventh year at our school. She has been the 4's music teacher, K music teacher and this will be her 5th year in the Kindergarten classroom.  Kim has her Bachelor's degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Elementary Education and her Master's Degree in Literacy Education from Washington State University. Mrs. Stevens attends Living Hope Church with her family and teaches Sunday School. The Stevens have two grown children. She loves gardening, photography and the Florida Gators! Her favorite subjects to teach are Bible and writing...and anything you can teach thru song! Her class is the Parrot Pals!


Michelle Terhaar

Mrs. Terhaar begins teaching Kindergarten at HBCPK this year!  Previously she assisted Mrs. Goff and then was a lead teacher for Pre K last year.   Michelle is married with 3 children- all alumni of HBCPK.  She worships at Park Valley Church and leads a small group of K-1st graders.  Mrs. Terhaar received her teaching credential from San Diego State and has taught Kindergarten for several years in a private school.  She enjoys baking and decorating cookies, can play several instruments and is proficient in ASL (American Sign Language) ! She loves the enthusiasm children have, and the joy on their faces when they learn something new! Her class is the Barnyard Buddies!


Jill Waskow

Mrs. Jill Waskow returns for her eleventh year, previously teaching in our Pre-K program and now in Kindergarten. Jill has a BA from Longwood College as a History major/teaching certification, and also a Master's from George Mason University in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. She has her Early Education Teacher Credential from ACSI.  She is married to her college sweetheart and they have two teenage children, both graduates of HBCPK. Jill worships at Park Valley Church and volunteers in the nursery with the infants. Mrs. Waskow enjoys cooking, exercising, attending concerts and spending time with her family and her golden doodle, Boomer. She loves making children feel welcome and special in her class, the Busy Bees!
