Support Staff

Our floaters provides extra helping hands throughout the day. You might find them in "lunch bunch", doing carpool or afternoon dismissals, preparing snacks, gathering craft supplies, helping teachers with projects or comforting a child who is having a difficult day.  Floaters help with parent coffees, school events and programs, ordering supplies...and subbing wherever needed.



Mrs. Brown begins her 9th year at HBCPK.  Tisha has been an active volunteer at HBCPK as well as the music assistant, Lego Club instructor, Engineering for Kids instructor and spent many years as Mrs. Goff's morning assisting in Pre K. She is a graduate of Texas Bible Institute and has worked in children's ministry since she was a teenager. She has completed the Preschool Endorsement Credential with the state of Virginia.  Tisha is married with 2 children (both alumni at HBCPK) ands attends Park Valley Church.  She enjoys reading, going to the beach and spending time with her family.  Mrs. Brown will also be the lunch bunch teacher MWF at 11:30 (for afternoon students).


  Sarah Dempsey

Mrs. Dempsey begins her 2nd year as a floater on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, additionally she has substituted and been an active parent volunteer for the past 5 years.  Sarah is married with three children- all HBCPK graduates.  Mrs. Dempsey is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a BS in Marketing Management. The Dempsey family attends Park Valley Church. Sarah enjoys going to the beach, having fun in ALL things and spending time with family.  


Shannon Gaioni

Mrs. Gaioni is the Tuesday/ Thursday assistant to Mrs. Abbott in the two's class.  Shannon is married and has two children, both HBCPK graduates.  The Gaionis worship at Park Valley Church. This is Shannon's 3rd year- assisting in the T/TH 2's and she is also a T/Th afternoon floater.  Mrs. Gaioni is pursuing her early education credential with NOVA.  She enjoys time with her family, photography, party planning, crafting and being a part of the team here at school!  She believes that as parents and educators, you must lead children not only with your words, but by your example, too.  Shannon will help with lunch bunch Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon.


Cheryl Mateer

Mrs. Mateer returns for her 11th year as an assistant teacher and her 4th year as a floater. She floats and helps in the office Tuesday and Thursday morning, and her MWF is spent assisting Mrs. Monfort in the fours class.  She is married with three sons who were all graduates of HBCPK. Cheryl attends St. Katherine Drexel Church. Her hobbies include gardening, anything that involves the outdoors and just being a mom to 3 travel soccer boys! She enjoys being with preschoolers, loves giving out hugs and kisses, helping children adjust to preschool and encouraging each child have a great day while in her care. Mrs. Mateer will be the lunch bunch teacher on T/Th at 11:30 (for afternoon students).

Erika Renehan

Mrs. Renehan returns for her 2nd year floating, and she will be an afternoon floater, M-F each week- so she will really get to know those afternoon students! Erika is married and has two children, one that is currently attending HBCPK. She received her marketing degree from Bentley University in Massachusetts. The Renehans attend Park Valley Church. Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 37:5, and she knows she can trust God to always be there for her. Her favorite thing to do is to spend time with her family and watching her children in sports/dance. She says she loves children- working with them is so rewarding! They have never-ending energy!
